Frequently asked questions

Does the module automatically mark WHMCS invoices as paid?

Yes. When a payment is confirmed by SumUp and the webhook is received, the corresponding WHMCS invoice is automatically marked as paid and the transaction is recorded.

Which SumUp payment methods are supported?

All methods enabled on your SumUp account are available: card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and regional methods depending on your country.

What happens if a webhook is missed or delayed?

The module includes a recovery mechanism that can re-fetch payment statuses directly from the SumUp API, so delayed or missed webhooks do not result in unresolved invoices.

My WHMCS uses USD. Does the EUR conversion work automatically?

Yes. The module includes an exchange rate system to reconcile amounts between your WHMCS currency and EUR (required by SumUp). The Diagnostics page shows whether the conversion source is properly configured.

Is SumUp for WHMCS an official SumUp product?

No. This is a third-party integration developed and maintained by ModulesGuard. It connects to the official SumUp REST API. SumUp is a registered trademark of SumUp Inc.

Can I test the gateway before going live?

Yes. Enable Debug Logging in the Payment Gateway settings to log all API calls. SumUp also provides a sandbox environment for testing.
